Abandoned cart
An abandoned cart is when a customer starts a purchase or booking but leaves before completing it. Following up promptly with a reminder often recovers the sale. For service businesses, this applies to bookings or quotes a customer began but did not finish.
An abandoned cart, or an abandoned booking, is a nearly-won sale that stalled at the finish line. The person showed strong intent by starting the process, then got distracted or hesitated and never completed it.
Because intent was so high, these are among the easiest sales to recover. A prompt, friendly reminder that they left something unfinished, sometimes with a quick way to complete it, wins back a meaningful share. Automating that reminder captures revenue that would otherwise silently disappear.
