Cross sell
A cross sell is offering a customer a related product or service alongside what they are buying, such as suggesting gutter cleaning to a roofing customer. It raises the value of the relationship by meeting more of the customer's needs with services they already trust you to provide.
Cross selling introduces customers to other things you offer that complement their purchase. A landscaper who mows lawns might cross-sell seasonal cleanup; a plumber might cross-sell water heater maintenance. Each fits naturally with the original job.
Because the customer already trusts you, cross selling is easier than winning a new customer and grows lifetime value. The best cross-sells are genuinely helpful, solving a related problem the customer has rather than pushing unrelated extras.
