Conversion rate
Conversion rate is the percentage of people who take a desired action out of everyone who had the chance. If 100 people visit a booking page and 8 book, the conversion rate is 8 percent. It measures how well a step in your process turns interest into action.
Conversion rate is a scorecard for any step in your funnel. It can measure visitors who become leads, leads who become customers, or callers who become bookings. A higher rate means you are getting more results from the same traffic or leads.
Small improvements compound. Raising a booking-page conversion rate from 5 to 8 percent means 60 percent more bookings from the same visitors, at no extra ad cost. That is why improving conversion is often the cheapest way to grow.
