Quote follow-up phone script

Calling about a quote makes a lot of owners nervous, so they never do it. This script gives you the words to check in naturally, answer concerns, and ask for the work.

When to use it

Use it a few days after sending a quote when a call will land better than an email.

Copy and paste

Opening:
Hi [Name], this is [Your Name] with [Business]. I sent over a quote for [project] a few days ago and wanted to see if you had any questions.

If they have questions:
Happy to walk through that. [Answer the question plainly].

If price is a concern:
I understand. There are a couple of ways we could adjust the scope to fit your budget better. Would you like me to put those together?

Ask for the job:
If the quote looks good, I would love to get you on the schedule. I have [option one] or [option two] open. Which works better?

If they need more time:
No problem at all. When would be a good time for me to check back? I will make a note and follow up then.

Tips

  • Open with the quote and a genuine offer to help, not a sales push.
  • If price comes up, offer to adjust scope instead of just cutting the number.
  • Always ask for the job. That is the point of the call.
  • If they need time, set a specific date to check back.

Cadrey can send this for you, in your brand voice, at the right moment, and only after you approve it.

What if they say they went with someone else?

Thank them for letting you know, ask if they would keep you in mind next time, and leave on good terms. A gracious loss often turns into a future job or a referral.
